It’s Marvel baby!
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its tie-up shows are in for a treat as Disney reveals what’s coming to the franchise over the next few years. Despite the lack of new films this 2020, thanks to COVID-19, 2021 and beyond is filled to the brim not just with new films but with new shows as well. The grand reveals were made during Disney’s Investor day that took place last December 10, 2020. Serving as a grand conference for every current Disney property, the event did not only showcase what’s coming for Marvel fans but also includes other notable, now Disney properties such as Star Wars and Pixar.
But as the title suggests, we’ll be talking more about Marvel. So here it is, the notable and biggest reveals that Marvel fans should definitely look out for.
Movies
Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
They kept on teasing it, and now they’re confirming it. The MCU is part of the Marvel Multiverse and Dr. Strange’s next big-screen appearance will seek to explore it. The film will see the return of not just Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange but also Chiwetel Ejiofor (Karl Mordo), Rachel McAdams (Rachel Palmer), and Benedict Wong who played, well, Wong. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set for release on March 25, 2022.
Captain Marvel 2
Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel in the upcoming film, Captain Marvel 2. Just like most of the new films and shows coming out starting next year, Captain Marvel 2 is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame in what could be a universe-spanning adventure. Now cameos are to be expected, it’s the MCU after all, and as early as now Disney confirms that the new Ms. Marvel will also be appearing in the film. Captain Marvel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters this coming November 11, 2022.

The First Family of Marvel Comics joins the MCU in this whole new film to be directed by Jon Watts. One of perhaps the most awaited MCU inclusion after Spiderman during Phase 3, the hype is real for Marvel’s iconic superhero team, although we are still yet to see more than just what Disney is teasing.
Eternals
Well here’s something new for the MCU. Eternals, the fictional alien race originally assigned to protect the earth is coming to the big screen with an all-star cast that includes Kit Harrington, Ma Dong-seok, Kumail Nanjiani, and Angelia Jolie. Eternals is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
Blade
Our favorite Vampire Hunter, which is also a Vampire is back and, we don’t know when yet. What we know though is that the titular character, Blade will now be played by Mahershala Ali who also appeared in SpiderMan: Into the Spider-verse, Alita: Battle Angel and The Hunger Games series.

The power couple from the Avengers are back and this time things seem to take a turn for the weird. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision will take place within the MCU and will star Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany as Vision. The show will premiere on Disney Plus starting on Jan 15, 2021.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are back in their roles as Falcon and Winter Soldier, or Bucky, as they travel around the world to become superheroes. Or basically continue what Captain America was already doing since Cap gave up the tights after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Also set as a series premiering on Disney Plus, Falcon and Bucky’s bizzare adventure will be streaming starting on March 19, 2021.
Loki
“Glorious.”
Loki, an Original Series from Marvel Studios, is coming May 2021 to #DisneyPlus. @lokiofficial pic.twitter.com/gqT7AKur2y

Seems like Loki escaping during the time Endgame Time Heist was no gag after all. The God of Mischief returns next year in his own series where he gets tangled in some crime, time-traveling adventure-esque story?? Anyway, it’s being described as a “Crime Thriller” and it’s gonna be glorious, hopefully. Loki will be streaming on Disney Plus sometime on May 2021.
Ms. Marvel
Okay first, Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel are different people. Second, both of them exist in the same universe so expect a marvelous team-up sometime soon. Ms. Marvel, who behind the mask is Kamala Khan is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic series and first appeared back in 2013. The show will star Iman Vellani as Kalama Khan/Captain Marvel and will be streaming on Disney Plus in the latter part of 2021.
Hawkeye
The bow-wielding sharpshooter is also back in a brand new series on Disney Plus. Clint Barton is not alone in this one, as he will be joined by Kate Bishop, (Hailee Steinfeld) who will be taking the mantle of Hawkeye, as Barton continues down the path of Ronin. No confirmed dates for release yet but fans can expect Hawkeye to start streaming in late 2021.
She-Hulk
Mean, green and now femme fatale, She-Hulk will star Tatiana Maslany as the lead character and will also include an appearance by Mark Ruffalo. The confirmed star lineup also includes Tim Roth who will reprise his role as Emil Blonsky the military man turned Hulk villain, Abomination, who we’re guessing as also the central villain in this new series. No dates confirmed yet but She-Hulk, just like the rest is coming to Disney Plus.
