PLEXTOR announces the launch of the M8V Plus Series solid state drives (SSD). They include the M8VC Plus 2.5” and M8VG Plus M.2 2280 SSDs. Sporting excellent sequential read/write and random read/write speeds as well as a host of other features, these all-a-around SSDs are an accessible upgrade choice for enhancing PC capabilities for improved productivity at home or the office. M8V Plus Series solid state drives build upon the success of the M8V SSD, which was well received by users and tech media alike, with higher capacities options (Up to 1TB) and the use of 96-layer 3D NAND memory instead of 64-layer 3D NAND memory.

Equipped with SMI SM2258 controllers and KIOXIA 96-layer BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory, the M8VC Plus and M8VG Plus deliver sequential read/write speeds of up to 560/520 MB per second and random read/write speeds of up to 90,000/88,000 IOPS. The SSDs feature RAID engine and data shaping technologies for extended product lifespans, longer-lasting stability, and a high return on investment. The SSDs come in capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB to meet the needs of different systems and applications.

What’s more, the M8VC Plus and M8VG Plus are built with Low-Density Parity-Check error correcting code technology. LDPC helps to reduce data errors, and an equal increase in data integrity, safeguarding valuable content from corruption. In addition, the M8VC Plus and M8VG Plus come with a suite of proprietary Plextor software including:

  • PlexCompressor optimizes storage space by automatically compressing files that haven’t been opened for at least 30 days.
  • PlexVault keeps valuable data secure and away from prying eyes, even data located on a shared computer.
  • Plexturbo sports intelligent caching technology that significantly reduces the number of unnecessary write cycles to extend the SSD lifespan.
  • Plextool is PLEXTOR’s proprietary SSD toolbox, which provides an easy-to-use interface for monitoring the status of the SSDs, including temperature, firmware upgrade, data integrity, and security.
