New Locale Frost Islands

The Frost Islands used to be the nest of a gigantic dragon. Many heroes lost their lives trying to slay the beast, turning it into a barren place of desolation and death. In the center of the islands lie giant dragon bones and the remnants of a Dragonship, the final traces left by a desperate struggle.

Ferocious monsters on Frost Islands

Goss Harag

A Fanged Beast roaming snowy plains in search of prey. Its body is covered in fur so thick it keeps out the harsh frost It can inhale the cold air to freeze its own bodily fluids and then spit them out to create icy blades on its arms. When riled up, it turns red and becomes exceedingly dangerous.

Lagombi

Lagombi returns after his most recent appearance in Monster Hunter Generations. A fanged beast whose warm pelt and thick layers of fat help it survive in cold climates. It has exceptional hearing as well. It can glide swiftly on ice to sneak up on prey.

Khezu

The creepy Flying Wyvern returns to once again strike fear into the hearts of many a hunter. Its long, elastic neck stretching out while it clings to a wall or the ceiling is a sight straight out of a nightmare. Make sure you do not get overwhelmed by its horrific appearance.

Great Baggi

The crafty Bird Wyvern returns with it characteristic ability to stun prey with a tranquilizing fluid. Noted for its projecting cranial crests and bluish-white skin that’s adapted to snowy climates. It craftily commands other Baggi to surround their prey before instigating an all-out attack.

Barioth

The Wyvern that rules the eternally frozen tundra is back again with freshly-sharpened fangs. It uses its forelegs, tail and spiked scales to traverse the slippery ice with ease.

Flagship monsters from the past numbering titles!

Mizutsune

Mizutsune is back since the Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate! It can secrete a peculiar foam that allows it to slide along the ground as it attacks its prey. It is as graceful as it is deadly.

Tigrex

A Flying Wyvern whose primitive origins are obvious. It displays incredible ferocity with its claws, jaws, and developed limbs. Be wary of its thunderous roar!

Rathalos

The biggest representative of the Monster Hunter series. It descends on invaders from the sky, attacking with poison claws. Be especially careful of its fiery breath!

A veil of Hellfire!? An Introduction to Magnamalo’s Ecology

Magnamalo is the flagship monster of this game. Its face exudes fearsome malice, and its hide is as tough as armor as if it were the physical manifestation of the grudges of fallen warriors. The purple gas that rises from its body when it eats other monsters is called “Hellfire,” and it makes Magnamalo’s already ferocious attacks even more destructive.

The facilities and inhabitants of Kamura Village

Take on a variety of quests at the Gathering Hub!

A place of relaxation used by all of the villagers.

This is where you can take on Hub Quests and Arena Quests, and there are various facilities such as the canteen and the market to support hunters in their endeavors.

Minoto the Hub Maiden (VA: Heather Gonzalez)

A quest maiden as serene as the moon

She’s twin sisters with Hinoa, who handles the Village Quests. She maintains a calm demeanor and doesn’t often show her emotions. Add to that her diligent working behavior, and you might get the impression that she’s cold and indifferent towards people, but she’s actually a very kind-hearted person and even a bit clumsy. She has a lot of respect for her sister and secretly wants to be just like her.

Guild Master Hojo (VA: Lucien Dodge)

The oldest man in the village, always bright and cheerful

A senior figure in Kamura whom even Fugen the Elder addresses with respect. He manages the Gathering Hub’s arm of the Hunters Guild and oversees all related quests. He is always smiling, full of geriatric joviality, and often heard chuckling around the Hub. He treats you like a grandchild and has total confidence in you as a hunter.

Master Utsushi (VA: Brandon Winkler)

A passionate teacher who always puts his heart and soul into everything

A man in the Gathering Hub who mentors young hunters and handles Arena quests. He taught you much of what you know about hunting. While his persistent dynamism is inspiring, it can lead him to easily get carried away at times. His talents also extend to mimicking monster roars and making monster masks.

The Buddy Plaza, for all your Buddy needs!

This plaza contains all of the facilities you need for your Buddies, including Iori’s Buddy Scout services. Here, you can train your Buddies, or talk to Felyne Chief Kogarashi to deploy the Meowcenaries. The plaza looks out over a river from where you can take a boat to the Training Area. The Argosy is also moored here, allowing you to make use of Rondine the Trader’s services.

Buddy Handler Iori (VA: Kyle McCarley)

A young boy who loves animals

Iori runs the Buddy Scout facility at the village’s Buddy Plaza. He loves Canynes and Felynes, and spends all of his time around them. Of course, the feelings are entirely mutual. He’s passionate in raising Buddies, and a deft hand at making use of their strengths while compensating for their weaknesses. He’s brought up many first-class Buddies. His grandfather is Hamon the Blacksmith.

Felyne Chief Kogarashi

The dignified leader of the Felynes

Kogarashi is in charge of the Meowcenaries at the village’s Buddy Plaza. He used to be Elder Fugen’s Palico before his retirement, and his skills are still second to none. It is said he could take on all of the village’s Felynes at once.

Rondine the Trader (VA: Katelyn Gault)

A trader from a foreign land

Rondine is a young woman who trades goods at the Buddy Plaza. She came to Kamura aboard a ship from a faraway land. Her elegant and refined behavior seems out of place for a typical merchant. Talking to her, it seems like she’s hiding something…

Try out hunting action in The Training Area

You can reach the Training Area by taking the boat from the riverside at the Buddy Plaza. Here, you can try out the weapon actions at your disposal by attacking the various objects placed around the facility. You can even change the settings to match your training goals.

Try out your combo prowess on a giant mechanized toad, or practice your aim on the targets that move around in different patterns and speeds. There are no rules here!
