The wait is over as three expansions for Frostpunk: Console Edition – The Last AutumnOn the Edge, and The Rifts – are now live. With them comes new gameplay mechanics, new buildings, and new stories and dilemmas for Frostpunk veterans both on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The expansions can be bought separately or together in the form of a Season Pass. For newcomers, 11 bit studios has prepared the Frostpunk: Complete Collection containing the base game and Season Pass. Here is the pricing for each option:
  • Complete Collection – $44.99 USD
  • Season Pass: $24.99 USD
  • The Last Autumn – $16.99 USD
  • On the Edge – $12.99 USD
  • The Rifts – $4.99 USD

Every expansion has its own theme and introduces new ways to play and new obstacles to overcome. The prequel story of The Last Autumn tasks players with building a Generator; so it’s not the weather here, but a tight schedule before the winter hits that is the main problem. On the Edge continues the story from the base game, and while players set up a new settlement outside of the city, it’s important to pave new trade routes and maintain a friendly relationship with other survivors’ camps while staying loyal to New London’s rulers. In The Rifts, on a new map for the Endless Mode, resources are scattered around the island so constructing bridges is the only way to secure their steady flow to your own settlement.
