Mineski Masters, the two-month online tournament spearheaded by Mineski Global and co-presented by Converge, has come to a glorious finish. Local standout UTG International Pro and Indonesian powerhouse Boom Esports have emerged victorious in the PUBG Mobile and Dota 2 tournaments, respectively. Dubbed as the “Battle of the Ages: Forging New Realms”, Mineski Masters invited esports enthusiasts to experience the grand spectacle of competitive gaming events all from the comfort of their own homes. The event featured a pair of epic playoffs for both games, that was broadcast live much to the viewers’ delight.

“Mineski Masters started out as our personal effort to support the local esports industry through the pandemic. While we have learned to pivot and adapt over the past year, moving most of our operations to online and remote, we recognize that the gaming community sorely missed the grandeur and experience of live esports events. Our long-term goal remains to help Filipinos conquer the world of esports by providing them a platform to showcase their undeniable talent,” said Mark Navarro, Country Manager of Mineski Philippines.

Mineski Masters kicked off with a PUBG Mobile tournament in September. Out of 256 teams across the country, UTG International Pro claimed the coveted title of “True Master” of the battleground. The Dota 2 tournament, on the other hand, began with a wildcard tourney in November that ended with two local teams being selected to compete in an 8-team bracket alongside six other pro teams from Southeast Asia. Indonesia’s Boom Esports went against “Pinoy Slayers” Motivate.Trust Gaming in the finals and secured a triumphant win in five intense games that had viewers on the edge of their seats, making up one of the biggest highlights of the series. BOOM Esports managed to pull off an impressive reverse sweep despite MTG jumping off with a 2-0 headstart. BOOM secured the next two games, and ultimately bagged the title during Game 5.

Mineski Masters had a total prize pool of Php1.5 million that was generously divided among the tournament winners. The victors of both PUBG Mobile and Dota 2 brought home a total of Php700k; UTG International Pro bagging Php300k and Boom Esports, Php400k. The rest were divided among the placers of both Playoffs, specifically the 2nd-8th placers of the PUBG Mobile tournament: M42 SEA, Khi Esports, XTX 360 ZV, Evolution Esports and Demigod Incognito, and Kingsman PH and Guidotti Esports Next Gen, respectively, and the Dota 2 Playoffs 2nd-5th placers, namely: Motivate.Trust Gaming, UD Vessuwan, GrindSky Esports, and OB Esports x Neon and TNC Predator, respectively.

As the premier esports and gaming organization in Southeast Asia, Mineski Global is committed to breaking barriers in esports events and event broadcasting. As such, innovation was a key element throughout the series. For the live broadcasts, Mineski utilized 3D Augmented Reality to deliver a more immersive and real viewing experience–a feature that fans were quick to applaud on social media. They also included a grand opening ceremony, a half-time show, and exclusive giveaways, to maximize viewer participation and enjoyment. All-in-all, Mineski Masters was the total package; it brought a spectacular series of events and gave Filipino fans an online tournament to remember.

The live broadcast for PUBG Mobile was co-presented by OPPO Philippines, while the Dota 2 Playoffs was co-presented by Lucky Me! Pancit Canton.
