Here’s What to Expect at ESGS 2022

The Philippines’ biggest gaming convention is finally back after two years of onsite absence due to the global pandemic, and ESGS (Esports & Gaming Summit) is showcasing some of the big names in the gaming and tech world. Here’s the rundown on what you can expect at the 3-day event happening on October 28 to 30, 2022 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

For starters, you can pre-purchase tickets at the SM ticket site or in any SM Ticket outlets nationwide, and in case you missed the chance to get the tickets online, you can buy tickets onsite on the event day.

If you’re looking for games to try out, ESGS has a handful this year, including new faces. There’s Riot Games making its big debut where they will be highlighting Valorant and League of Legends: Wild Rift, that also means there will be tons of activities and even a themed cosplay competition and the community costrip contest where any cosplayers donning any Riot Games characters gets a prize. For the console gamers out there, Sega also makes its ESGS debut to showcase their upcoming games such as Sonic Frontiers and Persona 5 Royal for Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch and PC. HoYoverse will be at the event to showcase more goodies for their hit game Genshin Impact while Tencent will showcase PUBG Mobile and the new Tower of Fantasy game. Garena has been an ESGS mainstay will have their Call of Duty Mobile attraction at their booth, same goes with Gravity Game Hub as they showcase their latest line of games based on the Ragnarok Online franchise and Razer Gold teaming up with Playpark to promote their new line of MMO games.  If you feel the local game developers weren’t given some deserving love, well fret not as GDAP will have their Indie Party section to showcase 20 indie games that you can get a hands-on experience.

Let’s not forget Globe will be hosting a series of activities including the Globe Gamer Grounds Astra Arena and even their main booth just in front of the main stage.

Want to see some esports action? MSI and Riot Games will have their League of Legends Open Tournaments Finals and JBL will have their Valorant tournament called Radianite Clutch Cup. Fans of DOTA 2 can experience The International madness as there will be a Watch Party session for fans to hang out and enjoy the tournament courtesy of Globe. And if you want to have some rounds of competitions, The Fighting Game Arena is back to showcase different tournaments of the popular fighting games.

Are you into some new game hardware? Then perhaps some of the big tech brands can convince you in getting their newest gear. Some of the big names such as Asus ROG, Predator, MSI, JBL, Viewsonic, AOC AGON, Philips Monitor, Corsair, Sharp, Fantech and Rotobox will be present along with their newest line of peripherals, hardware and gadgets to satisfy your gaming needs.

Do you want more goodies and merch to buy? There’s the Merch Alley where you can buy some of the gadgets, collectibles and apparel goodies, then there’s the fan favorite Artist Alley showcasing around 60 artists showcasing their fan-arts, stickers and other collectibles that any fandom would enjoy. If you want to get a hand on some ESGS-branded merch, they have them from hoodies to shirts on sale at the ESGS shop.

Want to hang out with the community? The folks at Tier One will be having their series of attractions and the Rumble Royale peeps will feature their talents on stage. And you can get to meet some of the esports teams including Nexplay Esports and Naos Esports while you’re at it. Love old-school gaming? there’s the Retro Gamers & Collectors Philippines to showcase the classic console games.
