Sega’s Debut at ESGS 2022 is a Gamers’ Wish Granted

Sega has finally made its event appearance in the Philippines and it’s a good indicator.

The Esports & Gaming Summit has been around for 8 years and several big game publishers have made their landing at the Philippines’ premiere gaming event including PlayStation, Capcom, Ubisoft, Nintendo and more. And finally, Sega has joined the ranks of making their appearance in the country which is a treat for the local gaming community.

Sega is one of the big gaming publishers that participated in this year’s ESGS, along with newcomers HoYoverse, Riot Games and Level Infinite. During the event, they focused on promoting Persona 5 Royal which was recently released to a wider line of platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Fans of the series and specifically Person 5 took the chance to try out the updated version on the current generation of consoles.

Plus, everyone gets a sneak peek at the new Sonic Frontiers game released this week. The open-world take on Sonic gives it a refreshing experience; everyone at the convention can try the demo version. Fans who played at the Sega booth would get a couple of freebie stickers as well as a large paper bag featuring Persona 5 Royal and Sonic  Frontiers that they can use to carry their loot around ESGS.

The media and content creators were in for a treat if they visited the Sega booth, as there is a playable demo of the upcoming Like a Dragon: Ishin, a remake of the 2014 PlayStation 4 game that never left Japan. We have our first impression of Like a Dragon: Ishin when we tried the demo during ESGS 2022.

Sega’s presence in ESGS is important to the local gaming community, this means more big game publishers will be supporting the gamers in the Philippines and can expect more of their games readily available in retail. We look forward to Sega again next year and maybe they will get a bigger booth and showcase more games
