The Ultimate Mechanical Keyboard Event Experience at The Grand Lason Round 2

The Grand Lason Round 2 concluded on October 15, 2023 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City and was a tremendous success. Over 4,200 people attended, making it again the largest mechanical keyboard event as it broke its previous record that was set last year. If you happen to miss it, here are the recaps of what you missed out.

 

The Grand Lason Round 2 Recap

The day began with long lines as people obtained their tickets and loot bags which included the

TGL Totebag, TGL Wristband, TGL x GMK Keycap, KulerCat Sticker Pack, and a Raffle + Giveaway pass. As the entrance opened at 12 noon, the process of entering the event hall was smooth and swift.

Attendees had the opportunity to purchase exclusive deals from the brands present at the event. There were plenty of mechanical keyboards for sale as well as other accessories such as cables, keycaps, mousepads, and even PC components.

Major brands known in the mechanical keyboard scene participated in the event, including ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG), Rakk Gears, Fantech Philippines, and Keychron PH. They were joined by retail stores like Rotobox PH, Hobby Dynamics, Iron Meets Wood, Bermor Techzone, and many more. Esports organizations like Tier One Entertainment and Oasis Gaming were also present at the event.

While some attendees were busy making purchases and participating in booth activities, others watched the event program. Zion Studios PH had prepared an entertaining program for the day, hosted by Eri Neeman, a well-known celebrity host and fellow mechanical keyboard enthusiast.

At the main stage, a WPM (Words Per Minute) contest took place. Initially planned for 8 participants, it expanded to 12 due to high interest. The winner of the WPM contest received The Grand Lason’s WPM Battle Champion Trophy, Rakk Keycaps, Rakk Haribon, SNK ATK Shirt, One Slow Chill Builds Deskmat, and 70 pieces of switches from Zion Studios PH.

People who showcased their mechanical keyboards had the opportunity to compete for the title of ‘The Grand Lason Best Mechanical Keyboard 2023’ in categories priced under Php 10,000 and above PHP 10,000. The judging panel included Merkeebs, an administrator from Mechanical Keyboard Warriors PH, and StrikeMods. The winner of the best mechanical keyboard under PHP 10,000 category received a deskmat, keycap set, and a surprise addition to their collection, the Geon Works Glare TKL mechanical keyboard. Meanwhile, in the above Php 10,000 category, the winner was awarded the Zen67 by Zion Studios PH, along with a premium keyset and deskmat.

Special guests were present at the event including Quiccs who gave away an ANATEQ figure and Transformers x Quiccs: Optimus Prime to lucky giveaway winners. People also had the opportunity to chat and take selfies with the international guest MechMerlin as he roamed around the event. The day concluded with fantastic music as DJ Bandit played on the stage.

The Grand Lason Round 2 event is organized by Zion Studios PH and co-presented by GMK Keycaps, Oblotzky Industries, and Angkas, the Official Transport Partner. It is also participated in by international brands, including GMK (Europe), Oblotzky Industries (Europe), TGR (Korea), Geon Works (Korea), Namong Art (Korea), and KLC (Korea).
