Riot Games is once again adjusting their virtual currency prices in multiple regions across all of their games, which includes the likes of League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics and Wild Rift. The changes, effective on September 18th, are due to the shifts in exchange rates and the local economies of each country.
The price increases are expected in several regions, such as Ukraine, Turkey, Japan, Chile and our very own Philippines. However, some lucky (or unlucky, depending on their economy) regions will have some price decreases, such as India and certain LATAM regions.
Though with the price increase, Riot is offering players bonus virtual currencies on purchases before the changes take effect to mitigate the impact it will have on the players. The company voiced out that it understands the challenges that this change may pose, particularly in regions that will have significant price increases. However, they emphasize that the necessity of these adjustments is to combat the exploitation of cross-country purchases and to maintain fairness across regions.
