New Demo, Trailer and Community Event for Ascend to ZERO

Flyway Games today released a new, updated demo for Ascend to ZERO alongside the ZERO Rush Challenge, a community leaderboard competition inviting players to push the game’s action roguelike mechanics to their limits — and win prizes doing it.

The demo and challenge are both live now on Steam through June 26, 2026, at 12:00 AM PT, giving players just a few weeks to compete before the game heads into its final stretch ahead of launch.

 

ZERO RUSH CHALLENGE 
The goal is simple: reach the highest level possible and submit your score for a shot at the top 10. Players must start a fresh save file created during the event period to be eligible. Previous save data will not qualify. Submissions are accepted via a dedicated participation link and require a valid email address and Steam nickname.

The top 10 players walk away with:

  • 1st Place: 1 Ascend to ZERO game key + Steam Gift Card equivalent to $100 USD
  • 2nd–5th Place: 1 Ascend to ZERO game key + Steam Gift Card equivalent to $50 USD
  • 6th–10th Place: 1 Ascend to ZERO game key
 Leaderboard snapshots will be shared during the event on the official Discord and X account on June 12, June 19, and June 24, giving participants a chance to track their standing before final rankings are determined at close.

 

 

The updated demo represents the most responsive and streamlined gameplay experience Flyway Games has released to date. Players can choose from five playable avatars — Chrono Child, Blossom Blade, Golden Gunslinger, Windborne Spearmaster, and Scarlet Pirate — and explore Stage 1.

Players with save data from previous demo versions may continue from an existing file, though a fresh save is strongly recommended to experience everything the new build has to offer and to be eligible for the ZERO Rush Challenge.

Demo save data will not carry over to the launch version of the game.
