Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia today announced the launch of CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The title brings back the popular series featuring Super Action Soccer gameplay, where players compete in ‘the beautiful game’ with supercharged anime-inspired abilities. In the sequel, Tsubasa Ozora once again represents Japan as they vie against national teams, including well-known soccer powerhouses, to advance to the highly contested World Youth Championship. CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS is available in the Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate Editions for consoles and PC.
Based on the popular series, the anime-inspired soccer action game returns with 22 national teams, over 110 playable characters, and new supercharged gameplay featuring signature moves. Players will experience a dramatic new storyline and take control of more than 110 playable characters, including fan-favourites from the series, honing their skills, forging new friendships, and overcoming increasingly challenging rivals to bring the trophy home.
The highly anticipated gameplay in CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS brings back the series’ over-the-top Super Action Soccer mechanics with enhanced visuals and new supercharged moves. Adding more than 150 new cutscenes highlighting some skills, the game introduces a new system that pits goalkeepers against shooters, where players attack and counter signature shots and blocks from characters of the anime series in jaw-dropping sequences. Passing, dribbling, tackling and unleashing strikes on goal combine proven soccer tactics with powerful techniques inspired by each character and their special abilities. As a nod to fans of the game series, music composer Tadayoshi Makino returns with over 80 new tracks for the sequel.
With more volume than any previous title in the series and powered-up field actions, CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS is the ultimate soccer action game. Story Mode features a new, original story penned by creator Yoichi Takahashi, based on the World Youth Championships arc from the original manga, while a wide variety of other game modes allow you to battle rivals both on and offline. Experience “neo-soccer” action, as the super plays unleashed by the players create the most unpredictable games.
